Few other social reforms get the same strong reaction as the suggestion of an unconditionally periodic payment to all citizens. The discussion about universal basic income does not only take place between right- and left-wing parties. It very often occurs within traditional ideologies. However, the clash generally narrows down to whatever this is a threat or a solution to our social problems.
